Four people injured in drunk driving accident on the Lefkosa – Güzelyurt main road

Four people were injured, two of them seriously injured, in an alcohol-related traffic accident early Monday morning.

According to police statement on the incident, the accident occurred on the Lefkosa – Güzelyurt main road, at around 1:00am on Monday, when Berk Sicimoğlu , 22, who was driving under the influence of alcohol lost control of his vehicle at the Agillar roundabout.

His car struck the kerb and rolled over. The driver of the vehicle and three other people in the car as passengers were injured in the accident.

They were all taken to the Lefkcosia State Hospital.

One of the three passengers had a fracture to his cervical spine and another was transferred to the intensive care unit, with cerebral haemorrhage and internal bleeding.

The driver of the vehicle, Berk Sicimoğlu, was arrested.
