Don't stay more than 10 mins under the sun, TRNC Met office warns

The TRNC Meteorology has warned residents not to stay in the sun for more than 10 minutes without taking precautions, especially between 11:00am and 4:00pm, as the ultraviolet radiation will be very high today.

In the warning published on the official website of the Meteorology Department on Thursday, it stated that; “Ultraviolet radiation is very high. Without taking the necessary precautions, it is necessary not to stay under the sun for more than 10 minutes, especially between 11:00 and 16:00.

People who have to go out when the ultraviolet radiation is “too high” are advised to use the shade, choose trousers and long-sleeved clothing, in addition to basic protection tools such as hats and sunglasses.

It is also recommended to avoid all kinds of outdoor sports when the ultraviolet radiation is “too high”.
