Two men fraudulently exchanged a fake iPhone with a man they met in a part in Lefkosa

Two men tried to played a fast one on someone they met at a park in Lefkosa by exchanging a fake phone with him for his original phone. 

The suspects named only as TÖ. and SD were about to exit the TRNC via Ercan airport when they were identified and arrested on a pending court order.

They were taken to court on Thursday, May, 18 on charges of fraud.

Police said the suspects gave a fake Iphone 14 Pro Max phone to a person they saw on the road in Lefkosa and in return took his original Iphone 12.

Police said the victim, named as BO, was walking in a park in Lefkosa on Wednesday, 17 when he met the suspects who told him they wanted to sell an Iphone 14 Pro Max mobile phone they had in their possession but BO said that he had no money.

The suspects then told him to exchange his phone with theirs and then defrauded him by giving him a fake phone and buying BO's original Iphone 12 mobile phone in return.

Police stated the suspects said they had received the Iphone 14 brand phone in question from a person they did not know in Kyrenia in exchange for a "6 drill set exchange".

The police stated that if the suspects are released at this stage, it is highly likely that they will affect the investigation, and demanded that they remain in police custody for 3 days at the first stage.
