Pedestrian dies in fatal accident on the Lefkosia-Guzelyurt main roa

A 42-year-old pedestrian died after being hit by a car on the Lefkosia-Guzelyurt main road in the early hours of Saturday morning.

The incident happened at around 12:44am on Saturday on Lefkosia-Guzelyurt main road.

Engin Kuzucu, 42 was walking on the side of the main road when he was struck from behind by a car driven by Chiru Nicolae, 44.

Engin Kuzucu died on the spot.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested and taken to court.

Police told the court that he was driving carelessly.

He was ordered to be detained for 3 days for more investigation to be carried out on the matter.
