Meat smuggler caught with illegal meat in Lefkosa

About 38 kilograms of illegal lamb meat were seized by the police in Lefkosa on Tuesday.

The discovery was made within the scope of the incident that took place at around 1.00pm on Tuesday in Lefkosa.

Police said they they detected the illegal meat in a search carried out on the car of a 69-year-old person named HD, who was passing from south Cyprus to north Cyprus from the Kermiya crossing point in Lefkosa.

The person with meat in his vehicle was arrested and investigation launched into the incident.
