Man die in accident on the Kyrenia-Tatlısu main road

61-year-old İffet Bilal died in an accident involving two vehicles that collided on the Girne-Tatlısu main road early Sunday morning.

The sad incident happened at around 1:00am on Sunday, May, 28 on the Girne-Tatlısu main road.

According to a statement, Mustafa Soytürk, 19 was driving towards Tatlısu carelessly when he lost control of the vehicle close to a right-slanting bend and switched to the next lane on the rightside of the road, and then collided with a car driven by İffet Bilal, 61.

Iffet Bilal, who was seriously injured in the accident, was taken to the Lefkosa State Hospital after he was first taken to the Akçiçek Hospital in Girne.

Unfortunately, he died despite all the interventions made to save him.

Mustafa Soytürk and Doğukan Aydın, 19 who was a passenger in the same vehicle, were taken to Akçiçek Hospital in Girne and were discharged after their treatment.

Mustafa Soytürk was arrested and take to court later on Sunday.

He was detained for 3 days for investigations to be carried out on the matter.
