Accidents on the Famagusta – Lefkcosia main road and Gonyeli

A vehicle went off the road and veered into the bush on the Famagusta- Lefkosa high way on Sunday.

The incident happened at around 9:20am on Sunday on the Famagusta- Lefkosa high way when 21-year-old Yükselen DENİZ lost control of the vehicle.

Police in it's statement said Yükselen DENİZ, 21 was driving from Famagusta to Lefkosa when he lost control of the vehicle close to Erülkü Supermarket and fell into a ditch and crashed into a tree.

He was injured as a result of the accident and was rushed to the Lefkosa state hospital.

In another incident, a 29-year-old drunk driver was involved in an accident in Gonyeli due to reckless driving.

The incident happened at around 1:00am on Sunday, when Azat BABAKULYYEV, 29 who was driving recklessly under the influence of alcohol lost control of the vehicle while driving from Burhan Nalbantoğlu Street towards the Gonyeli runabout.

He hit the steel barriers on the left side of the road while trying to enter the escape route on the left side of the road recklessly.

After hitting the steel barriers, the car somersaulted and landed on its roof..

No one was injured as a result of the accident. The driver of the vehicle was arrested.
