1311 crimes reported in the last one week in the TRNC
Police in it's weekly traffic report said 1311 traffic crimes were reported during the weekly routine traffic checks carried out by the police between the period from May, 8-14 across the country.
According to a statement by the police, 363 drivers were stopped for over speed, 10 for dangerous driving, 25 for careless driving, 115 vehicle were unlicensed, 7 without driving license, 115 are without seat belts, 48 are without examination, 33 are uninsured, 38 were driving drunk, 5 of them were fined for driving without permission, 3 of them were driving without permission from private business.
236 of the drivers were due to talking on their mobile phones while driving, 109 of them were not obeying the traffic signs, 8 of them were not obeying the traffic lights, 3 of them were from carrying more than tonnage or dangerous cargo, 3 of them were using a motorcycle without a protective helmet, and 190 of them were from other traffic traffic jams.
