Three students arrested for selling drugs after police raided their apartment in Gönyeli
Three Nigerians, two male and a female who were accused of allegedly engaging in drug trade were arrested by the police during a raid at their home in Gönyeli.
The suspects identified only as NS, JUM and BII who are students in the TRNC were arrested by the police during a raid by the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate at their residence in Gönyeli, at around 7:30pm on Tuesday, April, 25.
The suspects were brought to court on Wednesday on charges of "buying, giving and disposing of illegal drugs, cannabis".
Police in a court statement said they responded when they got wind of information that the suspects were engaged in business of selling drugs in their residence in Gönyeli.Police said during the search carried out in the house on the same day, a drug believed to be a cannabis type, weighing 74 grams, was found in 49 bags in ready-to-sale packages in the room of the suspect named N.S.
Police stated that the suspects JUM and B.İ.I, who were staying at the house, were also arrested as suspects.
The suspect N.S. admitted that he bought the subject substance in 100 grams from a wanted person on April 22 and that he sold some of the package for 600 TL.
Stating that the investigation has just begun, police demanded that the suspects be detained for 2 days.
