Two people caught with drugs in Lefkcosia and Famagusta
Turkish Cypriot police said it has arrested two men who were found with drugs in Lefkosa and Famagusta.
According to police report, 26 years old FD was arrested at the Metehan region of Lefkosa, within the scope of the operation of the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate teams at around 9:30pm on Saturday for illegal drug possession and violating a military restricted zone.
Police said the suspect entered the TRNC illegally, had a type of cocaine weighing approximately 5 grams, methamphetamine weighing approximately 11 grams. Police said they found substances believed to be marijuana type drugs mixed with tobacco, weighing approximately 1 gram, and a pill believed to contain narcotic substances on the suspect.
In similar situation, a 30-year old man, ASK was also arrested in Famagusta during an operation by Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate at around 4:00pm on Saturday after drugs was found in his apartment.
Police said they found a substance believed to be a cannabis type drug weighing 35 grams in total in his possession, a sensitive scale believed to have drug residues on it, and a cash amount of 4,900 TL believed to have been obtained from the sale of drugs during a search conducted in his house.
