TRNC has carried out successful organ transplants since 2015

The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) has been successfully carrying out organ transplants since 2015.

The Minister of Health İzlem Gürçağ Altuğra who visited the Lefkoşa Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital on Wednesday announced that a total of 57 patients have received successful kidney transplants to date.

Speaking to reporters at the Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital in Lefkoşa, Health Minister İzlem Gürçağ Altuğra said that the total number of successful kidney transplants in the TRNC had reached 57 following two surgeries on Tuesday.

Thanking the surgeons and doctors involved in the process, Altuğra said that organ transplants were of vital importance in the health sector.

She also thanked donors giving critically ill patients a second chance.
