The weather will be mostly sunny on Monday but rain and possible thunderstorms are on the way as Cyprus is coming under high pressure weather, the Cyprus Meteorology Service predicts.

The winds will be variable, westerly to north-westerly, moderate to strong, force 3 to 4 and – at times – up to 5 Beaufort.

The sea will be slight to moderate.

The temperature will rise to 25 C inland, 22 C to 25 C in coastal areas and 20 C in the mountains.

On Tuesday, intermittent clouds, that is, partly cloudy and partly sunny, may bring isolated showers mainly in the mountains.

On Wednesday, it will be mostly cloudy and isolated showers and possible thunderstorms are on the forecast – mainly in the mountains and in the south.

On Thursday, locally increasing cloud may give isolated rain – mainly in the mountains again.

The temperature on Tuesday and Wednesday is not expected to show any significant change, remaining close to average climatic values.

But come Thursday, it is expected to slightly rise.
