Missing 3-year-old child found dead in a water tank in Girne

A 3-year-old child who was declared missing by the Mayor of Girne on Friday evening was found dead in a warehouse inside the courtyard of a house.

Roma Öztiryaki, 3 was reported missing at around 5:45pm on Friday after he disappeared from their home in Ozanköy, Girne. A search was carried out for hours by the police and locals.

His lifeless body was later found inside a water filled concrete tank in the courtyard of the house.

An autopsy carried out on the body revealed that the cause of death was as a result of "drowning in water". 

He was buried on Saturday in Ozanköy after the noon prayer.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.”
