Man runs away with charger from an electronic store in Gönyeli without paying for it
A 33-year-old man has been arrested and detained for stealing a phone charger worth 1,100TL in Gönyeli.
The suspect identified only as EK, 23 was identified and arrested on Friday, March, 10 and taken to a court in Lefkosa on Saturday, March, 11 on charges of theft.
He was brought back to court on Monday following a two day detention order.
Police in it's statement said the suspect went to an electronic store operating in Gönyeli on Thursday, March, 9, took a 'powerbank' (portable charger) worth 1,100 TL from its box, and told the cashier, "I'm going to get my money from outside" but instead ran away with the item.
Police said that the complaint about the incident was made on March 9, 2023 and that the suspect was identified and arrested in Lefkcosia.

The court ordered the to be released on bail, banned from going abroad, report to the police two times in a week, present 1 credible TRNC citizen to sign a surety bond worth 300,000TL.
