Doctor detained in south Cyprus for alleged sexual harassment of trainee

A district court in Paphos, south Cyprus on Saturday remanded in custody for two days a 7-year-old doctor for allegedly sexually harassing a 24-year-old female trainee.

The elderly doctor was arrested on Friday, March, 24 after the young trainee reported the case to police who also said the doctor works in a private clinic in Paphos.

Police spokesman and CID chief Michalis Nicolaou said the doctor works in a private clinic in Paphos. The 24-year-old doctor in training filed a report against him, citing sexual harassment.

He apparently felt unwell and has been transferred to the town’s General Hospital rather than the police detention center.
