Owner of the company that built some of the destroyed buildings in Turkey arrested in TRNC
Hasan Alpargün, the owner of the company that built some of the destroyed buildings in Adana, which was affected by the earthquake and then fled to north Cyprus after the earthquake, has been arrested and detained in Lefkcosia.
According to report by TRT based on Turkish sources, Alpargün, who was issued with a warrant for "Killing and Injuring by Reckless" fled to the TRNC and surrendered to the Lefkcosia Police Department as a result of the investigations carried out in the TRNC.
In the ongoing investigations, it was determined that Alpargün was trying to transfer 990,000 dollars, 890,000 euros and 500,000 Turkish liras from Turkey and that there is an attempt to buy an apartment in the Demirhan region of Lefkosa. He will be returned to Turkey for trial.
A statement by the TRNC Ministry of Interior states as follows:
"Hasan Alpargün, the owner of the building contractor Alpargün İnşaat, which caused the death of approximately 50 people in the 14-storey Hasan Alpargün apartment in the Güzelyalı Mahallesi of Çukurova district, which is among the buildings destroyed in the great earthquake disaster that shook Turkey and our country deeply. It was reported that Hasan Alpargün, who was ordered to be expelled from the TRNC by the order of Interior Minister Ziya Öztürkler, was contacted with the Adana Chief Public Prosecutor's Office and he will be sent to the Republic of Turkey to be tried. "
