61 traffic accidents, 14 injuries in the last week in the TRNC

A total of 14 people were injured in 61 traffic accidents that occurred in the TRNC in the last one week.

A report by the Police Press Officer's Office on Monday stated that 61 traffic accidents occurred during the period covering 13 -19 February, 13 of them resulted in injury and 48 in damage, and 14 people were injured.

Causes of traffic accidents that occurred during the period; Driving fast (18), driving recklessly (13), not stopping at the intersection (11), following closely (9) and other factors (10).

While the total amount of damage caused by the accidents was announced as 2,577,500 TL, the distribution of the accidents by districts is as follows:

“Lefkosia 22, Famagusta 11, Kyrenia 16, Güzelyurt and Pier 6”

While 9 thousand 53 vehicle drivers were checked in the traffic controls carried out by the police last week across the country, 790 vehicle drivers who were found to have committed crimes were reported and legal action was initiated against them.

The distribution of crimes is as follows:

“Speeding (284), Dangerous Driving ( 3 ), Reckless Driving ( 25 ), Driving Without a Navigation License ( 89 ), Driving Without a Driving License ( 6 ), Drinking Driving (10 ), Talking on a Cell Phone While Driving ( 79) ), Driving Without a Seat Belt ( 43 ), Not Obeying Traffic Signs and Signs ( 55 ), Not Obeying Traffic Lights ( 2 ), Driving Without Inspection ( 31 ), Driving Without Insurance or Out of Its Scope ( 18 ), "B" Private Business Unauthorized Vehicle Driving (3), Riding a Motorcycle Without a Protective Helmet (1) and 141 other traffic offenses”
