Rain, snow, cold and high levels of dust to hit Cyprus from Friday

Rain and snow are on the way from Friday while airborne dust is to be also trapped in the atmosphere as part of the upcoming low pressure front announced the Cyprus Met office.

The rain will be light and isolated.

Thursday will be initially sunny and nice but from midday onwards it will become cloudy with medium to high clouds. Isolated light rain in the afternoon is not ruled out. The temperature will rise to 20 degrees Celsius inland and all coastal areas and 10 C in the mountains.

The temperature will be well above normal levels for the season.

On Friday, the weather will be mainly cloudy with isolated showers and but some thunderstorms are not ruled out either.  Light dust in the air is also on the forecast.

On Saturday, the weather will be partly cloudy with isolated showers and light sow or sleet is expected to fall in higher mountain areas.

The temperature is expected to drop gradually to be near or slightly above average for the season by Sunday.
