Man sexually teenager in Lefkosia

A Turkish man suspected of allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl in Lefkosa has been detained by the police.

The suspect, Mehmet Aygül was arrested for allegedly sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl between the hours of 3:00am and 6:00am on Thursday January 19, 2023, in K. Kaymaklı Lefkosa.

He was taken to a court in Lefkosa on Saturday on charges of “Child Sexual Abuse, Violation of Privacy and Sexual Assault.” 

Police told the court that the suspect kissed the 15-year-old girl who was asleep on the sofa bed in the living room of the suspect's residence without her knowledge, took off her bra and tore off her panties. 

He then took a photo of her with his mobile phone and sent it to her as a temporary photo via WhatsApp to her, violating her privacy in the process. 

Police stated that they came to the knowledge of the incident upon the child's complaint and that an investigation was initiated leading to the arrest of the suspect with a court order.

The child was taken to a doctor's for check and a report will be prepared, and DNA analysis of the clothes and sheets taken from the suspect's house would be made, and the suspect's statement would be confirmed and refuted so that the investigation could be carried out safely. 

At the first stage, police demanded that he be detained in the police for 3 days.
