Üstel on Sunday stated that after the evaluations made with animal producers and butchers, some reductions were made in meat prices. He said “Initiatives in this regard will continue.
While we continue to support our producers to produce more, on the other hand, if meat prices are not at the desired level, we may consider the option of importing meat again,” he said.
Explaining that they will take all necessary measures to prevent the smuggling of meat to the TRNC, Ünal Üstel noted that the measures to be taken at the crossing points for illegally transferred meat and other products from the south of the island to the north were discussed in the extensive security evaluation meeting held with the relevant institutions and organizations.
Ünal Üstel stated that with the measures to be taken, the entry of smuggled and unknown products into the country will be prevented, thus ensuring that the public can reach better quality and healthy products.
Along the border; systems that will monitor 24 hours a day along the border to prevent meat smuggling will be established and digital inspections will be increased.
