Mother and daughter arrested for shoplifting in south Cyprus

A 67 years old woman and her 43 years old daughter were arrested in south Cyprus on Monday for allegedly shoplifting and physically assaulting a security guard.

Greek Cypriot police on Monday said the two women who allegedly stole clothes from a Paphos shopping center, were noticed by a security guard whom they beat and pushed aside in order to escape for trying to stop them.

Employees spotted the two women stealing clothes. While they were exiting the shop, they assaulted and pushed a security guard who tried to stop them.

Police arrived at the scene and arrested the two women. They face charges of theft of property, assault and causing actual bodily harm, causing malicious damage of property and verbal assault.

Police identified and located the suspects and are continuing the investigation.
