Greek Cypriot police searching for a man abducted by four African men in Paphos

Greek Cypriot police said it is looking for a man who was abducted by four African men in a village in south Cyprus on Wednesday.

According to report, the man was abducted in Paphos at about 5:45 pm on Wednesday evening. 

Police said they found the car used to take him in Tremithousa village after they received an anonymous tip that a man was beaten and shoved into a vehicle by four African men outside of a pizza place in Chlorakas.

Police said that they were informed about the licence plate numbers of the car, and that they began to search for it.

Police cordoned off the scene of the incident and took some evidence, which included a shoe and a mobile phone, which are believed to belong to the victim or the assailants.

Police said that during their investigations they found that the car is registered to a man not in Paphos, who told police he sold the car to a Greek Cypriot through a website.

Police said it later found the vehicle parked outside an apartment building in Tremithousa.

Police are monitoring the vehicle, and investigations are ongoing in the area to find the owner of the vehicle, the other passengers and the man that was abducted.
