Letter bomb explodes at Ukraine's embassy in Madrid, 1 injured
One person was injured in an explosion at the Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid on Wednesday.
He suffered light injuries went to hospital under his own steam, the force added.
The blast took place when an embassy worker opened an envelope, according to Spanish news outlet Radio Television Madrid (RTVM).
The employee suffered light injuries and was able to go to a hospital on his own, the report said.
Emergency services, including sniffer dogs, remain on the scene.
Police activated their anti-terrorist protocol and cordoned off the area once the alarm was raised around 1pm.
The Ukrainian Embassy in Madrid has not yet commented on the incident.
