E-Visa to start in February, illegal residents and those involved in crimes to be deported - TRNC Minister of Interior
The TRNC Minister of Interior, Ziya Öztürkler has called on foreigners staying in the country illegally to make their status legal.
Stating that the immigration systems have been restructured, Öztürkler emphasized that it should be known that people in an irregular situation can be detected much faster from here, and that after the completion of the immigration amnesty in force, the government will take necessary action against those who are not within the framework of the country's legal rules.
Öztürkler made the remarks during a TV program he participated in on Wednesday.
Speaking on the agenda and the work of the Ministry, the Minister Öztürkler, gave information about their work for the protection of the country's security and public peace. He stated that nearly 2,000 people were deported without hesitation especially those who remained irregular or involved in crimes in the country, and that their determined stance on this issue would continue.
“Our greatest strength in this regard is our police and our Security Forces”, he said adding that they always acted in line with the reports they gave, and that they showed this will with courage at the point of signing, and that this will continue with zero tolerance.
- The e-visa automation system will be activated in February
Saying that the most important point in terms of national security and public peace is to establish a strong and secure system for entering the country, Öztürkler stated that with the E-Visa Automation System, much tighter controls will be made online before foreigners come to the island.
Expressing that the entry into the country will be inspected and the tender process for the system to be established has been completed to a large extent, Öztürkler stated that within 2-3 days, steps will be taken without delay, with the approval of the Supreme Election Board on this issue, whose project and infrastructure works have been completed and which concerns public safety.
Öztürkler also noted that after the approval of the Supreme Election Board, the tender process for the E-visa Automation System will be fully finalized and the E-Visa Automation system, which is very important for this country, will be activated in February.
