5 fires and 23 service incidents occurred in the TRNC in a week - Report

In the last week, 5 fires and 23 special service incidents occurred in the country, and a loss of approximately 159 thousand TL incurred as a result of the fires.

According to the information given by the Police Press Officer, the possible causes of the fires; It took place as a result of "burning by unknown person or persons, electrical short circuits, burning by person or persons for cleaning purposes".

Special service events are; It was listed as "providing fire training, rescuing the dogs that fell into the well and the pigeons stuck in the fireplace chimney, ensuring road safety by pouring sand on the oil spilled on the road as a result of a traffic accident, and sending the deceased to the state hospital morgue for judicial investigation".

The fire department also warned that "timely measures prevent disaster".

Reminding that it is forbidden to start any kind of fire, even for cleaning purposes, the following warnings were made in the statement:

“It should not be forgotten that the fire lit in areas that are not suitable for starting a fire can go out of our control and cause a fire.

Have your electrical installations checked by experts in order to prevent short circuits that may occur due to overloading in electrical installations in your workplaces and residences.

To have timely service, maintenance, exhaust and tire checks of private vehicles, agricultural vehicles, public transportation vehicles and fuel-carrying vehicles; It will prevent fuel leaks, short circuits and sparks from exhausts to cause fire.

Having a dry chemical powder type fire extinguisher with a capacity of 2 kg in your vehicles and learning how to use this device will prevent the fire from growing and a possible danger.

Insuring your workplace and home against any risk of fire will help you to recover from material damage.

Our citizens who see any signs of smoke or fire are kindly requested to immediately reach the ALO 199 Fire Brigade Fire Warning Line, ALO 177 Forest Fire Warning Line and 155 Police Emergency Line.”
