Amnesty bill likely to be passed in October - Minister of Interior

The TRNC will no longer allow illegal and irregular life to continue in the country and will bring serious controls to the entrances to the country with the arrangements they will make, said Minister of Interior.

According to a statement made by the minister in a TV program he participated in, he said the Ministry of Interior has a wide area of responsibility and steps have been taken to increase the quality of service with digital transformation.

Öztürkler said that they have started a serious digital transformation move in order to provide the best service to the citizens within their area of responsibility, to implement modern systems and to get rid of the cumbersome structure of the public.

Immigration Systems, Spatial Address Registration System (MAKS), Land Registry and Cadastre Automation System (TAKBİS), Spatial Real Estate Systems (MEGSİS), new generation passports, e-identity / e-population, automation systems to be activated in district governorships.

He said that they are in a serious restructuring in studies such as the development of their projects and the E-Visa Automation System. “For this purpose, our friends are currently holding meetings with more than 20 experts in our country from the Republic of Turkey to contribute to technical support and new software, and they are planning the steps to be taken.”

Speaking on Amnesty, he said Immigration Amnesty will be discussed in the Legal and Political Affairs Committee from tomorrow (Thursday).

Öztürkler said that it is also important to know that the law, which will take its final form in the committee, is prepared as a general amnesty, covers both domestic and foreign people, and that only those who have been deported from the country due to crimes cannot benefit from the Immigration Amnesty.

Saying that Immigration Amnesty will begin to be discussed in the General Assembly of the Assembly after the committee stage, Öztürkler noted that they expect the law to be passed by the Assembly in October.

“There are people who were involved in a crime and we deported from this country. These people should never think that forgiveness will cover them, it will never happen. We are making a call. This is the last chance. We started to set up our systems. We will continue to deport people who are irregular.

In this country, we no longer want illegal life, irregular life. With the arrangements we will make, we will bring very serious inspections at the entrances to the country.

With the E-Visa Automation System, entry to the country will be provided after passing through 7 checkpoints. All of these projects have been completed and the tender process has begun. We will no longer leave people in irregular situations like this, we will continue to send them.

Either take advantage of this amnesty, make yourself a regular in the country, or leave the country. We have been making this call all the time lately.”
