American warplanes flew over the TRNC but no one knew, not even the authorities

Did anyone notice US war planes fly over northern Cyprus at any time this week?

Within the scope of the exercise initiated by the USA, it was stated that the "F-22" warplanes flying over the island also passed over the northern part of Cyprus with the "TRNC authorities unaware and that Turkey issued a "failed" NOTAM.

As part of the exercise launched by the USA in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Gulf of Famagusta, “F-22 Raptor” warplanes flew over the island of Cyprus.

It is stated that the "TRNC authorities" were not informed about the planes passing over the northern part of Cyprus during the flights, which are said to have taken place with the knowledge of the Republic of Cyprus authorities, which was opposed by Turkey.

The media in the south wrote that Turkey made a "failed" NOTAM attempt regarding the exercise in question and  it was not clear whether it allowed flights to the north.

On the other hand, some news about the incident, which did not have much impression in the local media in the north, claimed that the flights of warplanes over the island were not reported to the Republic of Cyprus authorities.

RİK, the official publication of the Republic of Cyprus, wrote that the flights were made in consultation with the state, and this information was announced by the government spokesperson.  

According to the Greek Reporter, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus approved the mission after Washington "received a verbal note of permission to conduct the exercise through the US Embassy".

The exercise, which started last Saturday, is expected to end on 5 November.
