Student stabs and injures flatmate during argument over internet use in Hamitkoy

Two students, one seriously injured and currently in intensive care unit battling for his life and the other who is currently cooling his heels in police nets were involved in a bloody fight on Wednesday in their apartment in Hamitkoy.

According to police report, the fight which happened at Osman Hacet Apartmant in Sht.Hasan Yılmaz Sokak, Hamitkoy at around 4:00pm on Wednesday was as a result of internet use between two Nigerian students.

The flatmates were having an argument over the use of internet when the situation went south and turned into a serious fight. The suspect, identified only as LCE, 24 took a knife of 33cm PAO, 30 was holding and stabbed him 3 times in the back and left arm causing him severe injury.

PAO was rushed to the hospital intensive care unit and LCE arrested on charge of of Attempted Premeditated Murder and Serious Injury. 

Police officer who gave testimony in court said immediately after the incident, the suspect was identified at the scene and arrested as per a court order.  

Police explained that the issue is a serious one and the investigation has just begun, and that the health status of the complainant has not yet been clarified.  

The police stated that the name of a person who was at the scene and witnessed the incident during the incident has been identified but the person has not been found yet. The police demanded that the suspect be kept in detention for 1 day, since the issue is a matter of heavy punishment and may adversely affect the investigation if the suspect is released.
