Man who broke into a residence in Lekfe found to be living illegally in the TRNC

A young man who broke into a house in Gemikonağ and was caught while at it has been found to be residing in the TRNC illegally.

The suspect only identified as N.P.M, 25 reportedly entered a residence located in Gemikonağ on Saturday, July, 9 with the aim of committing a crime. Police said he was caught red-handed and arrested.

He was taken to a police station in Lefke where he was interrogated. It was during interrogation, it was discovered that he has been living in the TRNC since March 16, 2017 without a resident permit.

He was taken to court on Sunday. Police stated that the investigation was continuing and demanded that the suspect be detained for 3 days.

Evaluating the testimony given in court, the judge ordered the suspect to be detained for 3 days for more investigations to be carried out on the matter.
