Man living in Cyprus illegally escape from police vehicle on way to prison
Greek Cypriot police are looking for a 32-year-old man, from Pakistan who was arrested on Tuesday evening for illegally staying in Cyprus but escaped on his way to prison from.
Muhammad Atif, who was arrested on Tuesday evening escaped on his way to prison from a Nicosia police station and is still wanted.
According to report, he had went on his own with the police to assist with investigations regarding a drug dealing case in Larnaca but officers at Ayios Dometios police station realized his legal stay in Cyprus had expired a year ago.
That’s why they arrested him but on the way to Nicosia central prisons he managed to attack both officers in the police car and run away even though he was hand-cuffed.
The police members were taken for examination to the Nicosia General Hospital where they were kept in for treatment.
The police issued a warrant for his escape but also assault against police officers.
