Northern Cyprus Council of Ministers banned 11 Nigerians from the country over their role in gang activities
The TRNC council of Ministers, on Tuesday banned 11 Nigerian immigrants from the TRNC over their role in gang activities that it said endangered the public order.
The decision by the Council of Ministers was published in the Official Gazette on Tuesday, June, 7, 2022.
The reason for their ban and expulsion is stated as follows:
“Because it is possible to act in a way that endanger the public order, administrative order or general morality, or to arouse hostility among the people of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus and against the State, or to intrigue against the authority and power of the State, organizing in the TRNC, becoming a gang leader, a gang member and doing what they have done. They exhibit attitudes and behaviors that threaten public safety due to gang activities.
One of the banned students is said to have been living in the TRNC for 16 years with a student permit, but has not been a student.
Three of them has been deported while the permits of those yet to be deported has been cancelled.
