Police warns of counterfeit money in circulation

The police has issued a warning of fake bank notes in circulation.

Police in a warning to citizens on Thursday, said a  number of fake 50 US Dollar banknotes are in circulation and one person has been arrested in connection with the circulation.

A 34-year-old man named only as M.K., was caught at a casino operating in Yeniboğaziçi with 9 US dollar notes, consisting of 50 banknotes believed to be fake.

The police also shared the serial numbers of the counterfeit notes in circulation:

“KB16736741L, KB46029773L, KB68529766L, KB16718748L, KB16718749L, KB68518165L, KB46036217L, KB46018595L and KB30929520L”

Police in a statement said, banks, exchange offices, financial institutions, markets and citizens who find "50" USD denominations, starting with the serial numbers indicated in above, should be careful, as there is a possibility that the counterfeit money in question may have been released before, and they should be careful about the people they deem suspicious to be in the closest area. They were asked to report to the police station.
