27-year-old Greek Cypriot man sentenced to 4 years in prison for sexually abusing his sisters

A 27-year-old Greek Cypriot man has been sentenced to four years in prison for sexually abusing his two younger sisters who were in primary school at the time of the incident. 

The sentenced which is considered to be light, was announced by the Limassol Assize Court on Monday.

The abuse took place 12 years ago when the accused was a minor himself.

The accused had admitted being guilty in some 30 charges against him including sexual exploitation of a child, attack, threats and causing psychological damage.

The abuse began when the girls were at the tender age of six and eight respectively. 

The two sisters said in their complaint that since 2009 their brother had sexually abused them – something which continued until 2013.

The nightmare ended when both sisters graduated from elementary school.
