Two people caught with materials used to print counterfeit money
Two people suspected to be involved in printing counterfeit money will be tried in court.
The suspects, both from Africa were arrested on Saturday, December, 26 after police found materials thought to be used in making counterfeit money in their vehicle during a traffic operation carried out on Değirmenlik – Dağyolu.
Police in it's court statement said the suspects were involved in the crimes of secret alliance in order to print counterfeit money.
The police said that during the control carried out by a police team in the Değirmenlik- Dağyolu round about at 2:00pm on December 24, their car was stopped for control purposes and material believed to have been used in printing counterfeit money, an amount of which could not be determined yet, was detected in the vehicle.
In the research, it was also reported to the court by the police that the subject persons committed the crimes of secret alliance in order to print counterfeit money and put it into circulation.
During a search conducted in their house with a court order, drugs believed to be about 2 grams of cannabis and cut papers believed to have been used in the making of counterfeit banknotes were detected in a nightstand drawer in one of the suspect's bedroom.
The police said that nothing illegal was found in the house of the other suspect.
