Man caught with 35 grams of drugs, 3 guns and 26 live bullets in Lefkosa
A drug dealer who was caught in a Dead End operation carried out by narcotics police in Lefkosa was found with a pistol.
The search on his property was ordered by the court following a tip off.
The suspect identified only as M.A, a Turkish Cypriot, was identified and arrested during a raid by narcotic police in his apartment at Çimmaz Sokak on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
Police said they found 3 illegal fire arms including a pistol and 26 live bullets in his possession. The bullets found in a locked safe in his bedroom were taken as exhibit.
Also, a drug substance believed to be approximately 25 grams of cocaine in two separate bags, a glass hookah believed to have drug residues on it, and a sensitive scale were found in the suspect's kitchen. They were all taken as exhibits.
The suspect told the police that the live bullets and cocaine were to be taken to south Cyprus through a wanted person.
The suspect who was paraded in court on Thursday was ordered to remain in detention for one more day so that the police can carry out more investigation on the matter and confirm his statement whether the pistols had been used in any incident in the past.
Meanwhile, the suspect's lawyer demanded that his client be checked by a doctor.
