Woman arrested in Gonyeli for performing illegal lip surgery

A woman who performed lip augmentation surgery in Gönyeli, although she was not registered with the Cyprus Turkish Medical Association has been arrested for illegal activity. 

According to Police Press Release, the suspect, a 32-year-old woman identified as  Madina Khabilaeva, residing as a guest in Gönyeli was arrested at about 3:15pm on Saturday, October, 9 for performing lip augmentation operation on a person using medical supplies and equipment, despite not being a registered member of the Medical Association. 

She was taken to court on Sunday.

Also arrested, was a 34-year-old woman who had the surgery and was found to be related to the suspect.

Police said many materials found to be used in medical interventions were found in the said house and taken as an exhibit. 

The suspect made a statement that he is a doctor in her country, Russia.

Police said investigation is ongoing.

Evaluating the testimony given in her presence, Judge Mine Güçlüer Ozankaya ordered the  suspect to be kept in police custody for 3 days for investigation purposes.
