Police warns of 'fake dollar' notes in circulation
Turkish Cypriot police has issued a warning of fake dollar notes in circulation.
The Police Press Officer announced that, on Tuesday, October, 12, five 20-dollar bills ($100) believed to be counterfeit were found during a search in a house in Lefkosa. They were taken as exhibits.
The police pointed out that there is a possibility that these counterfeit notes may have been released before now.
It warned that banks, foreign exchange companies, financial institutions, markets and citizens, as well as persons and institutions that will trade and exchange money, should be careful.
Any found with such notes should be reported to the nearest police station.
