Man who took money he found on the floor has been arrested for stealing it

A 32-year-old man has been arrested and detained for stealing money he found in front of a work place in Lefkosa.

The suspect identified as Abdul Haseeb Khan, a foreigner in the TRNC and lives at Ecvet Street in Lefkosa, reportedly found 6,200 TL that was mistakenly dropped by a person in front of a work place on Friday, October, 15.

Police said the suspect took the money and left. He was later identified and arrested. 

Further investigation revealed that the suspect had been living in the country illegally for 6 years.

He was taken to court on Saturday on charges of theft and illegal residency.
