21 Year old man killed in work accident in Famagusta

A 21-year-old man was killed in a work accident that happened in Famagusta on Thursday while loading marble onto a van.

The unfortunate incident happened at about 3:30pm on Thursday in Famagusta Industrial area.

Mehmet Ali Bodaloğlu, 21, an employee of the work place, was working at the site when a marble being loaded onto a vehicle fell on top of him. He died at the scene.

Police said the accident happened as a result of negligence.

A 37-year-old man was arrested following the incident. Police said safety rules were not followed.

Police are continuing their investigations into the incident.
