Two people in detention for living in the TRNC illegally

Two people who were living illegally in the TRNC were arrested during police check in Kyrenia.

The two who were arrested during a routine police check on Uğur Mumcu Street, in Kyrenia last week were taken to court on Saturday. 

The two men identified as Abubakar Abubakar and Sagıp Tahıg have been without a residence permit in the TRNC. 

The police stated that during the immigration control, it was determined that Abubakar had been without permission in the country since January 15, 2020, and Tahig since May 28, 2021. 

The police stated that the investigation and expulsion proceedings against the suspects are continuing.

They were ordered to remain in detention for 8 more days.
