There will be no 30 percent increase in electricity tarrif in the TRNC - Prime Minister Ersan Saner

There will be no 30 percent increase in the cost of electricity in the TRNC, Said Prime Minister Ersan Saner.

Saner made the statement during a media chat last week, after it was reported that the the Turkish Cyprus electricity authority planed to increase electricity tariffs by 30 per cent.

Saner said that he wanted to see more details justifying price increases than the ones presented by Kib-Tek at the Council of Ministers’ meeting held on Monday.

He pointed out, however, that there had been no increase in electricity prices since 2019 and that the cost of fuel had risen since then.

He gave assurances that if there was a price rise it would not be 30 percent.
