5-Year old die in accident in Lefkosa

A 5-year-old child was killed in an accident that happened in Lefkosa.

The unfortunate incident happened at about 5:20pm on the northern ring road in Lefkosa as a result of careless driving by Gözde Demirkaya TAŞKENTLİ, 34.

Gözde Demirkaya TAŞKENTLİ was driving towards the south direction of the road at extreme speed when she lost the steering of the vehicle close to Haposlat round about and crashed into the central barrier in the middle of the road. This caused the car to turn on its roof.

5-year-old Karel Taşkentli who was a passenger in the vehicle was rushed to the Lefkosa Dr Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital, but could not make it due the injuries he received.

The treatment of the driver of the vehicle is still ongoing.

The investigation continues.
