TRNC will not go into another lockdown but businesses might be closed as government begins 3rd dose vaccine plan

Third dose of vaccines will be issued to those who have received their second dose already starting in August, said TRNC minister of Health, Ünal Üstel.

Ünal Üstel made the announcement on Wednesday. According to him, third dose vaccination of Sinovac vaccine, will be made starting in August. 

So far, more than 220 thousand 500 people have been vaccinated in the country. Also, 60% of the population has been vaccinated, as single dose and double dose.

He noted that 5 cases of the delta variant have been encountered in the country, adding that the contamination mostly occurred at weddings, casinos, bars and indoor sports halls.

He pointed out that controls will become more frequent as of Wednesday and, those who do not comply with the Rules will be penalized. 

He said they have decided to reintroduce the mandatory PCR testing at Ercan airport again. This, he said, will also apply to tourists who have been fully vaccinated.

We are doing everything to prevent another lockdown. We will not look anyone's eyes. Instead of closing the country, we will go to the way of closing businesses, he said.
