TRNC Minister of Education call on teachers and students to "get vaccinated"
TRNC Minister of National Education and Culture Amcaoğlu this week stated that the government aim is to start face-to-face education in the 2021-2022 academic year, calling on all to "get vaccinated".
Amcaoğlu made the announcement during an information meeting held about the 2021-2022 Academic Year Planning Studies.
He pointed out that the best way to achieve this, would be by vaccinating an education army of approximately 15,000 people. He also pointed out the importance of vaccinating all teachers and employees, even students of appropriate age.
Representatives of the Cyprus Turkish Teachers' Union (KTÖS), the Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers' Union (KTOEÖS), the Cyprus Turkish Medical Association (KTTB), the Cyprus Turkish Psychologists Association, the Cyprus Turkish Psychological Counselors and Guides Association, the Education Waitz Initiative and the Ministry of Health also attended the meeting.
At the meeting, information was shared about the studies that are planned to be implemented in the 2021-2022 academic year, and opinions were expressed.
Amcaoğlu in his speech pointed out that the most negative impact of the Covid 19 pandemic, which affected the whole world, was experienced especially in the field of education.
Amcaoğlu summarized the following:
“At the meeting, we presented our general philosophy and principles, the practices in education in the world, the preparations of our ministry. We shared information and got opinions. We also made a summary presentation of large-scale studies on the topics such as Academic Study Calendar, review of study periods, elimination of learning losses, curricula, safe and healthy return to school, psycho-social support studies, in-service training and guidance. We agreed that these studies will continue with different focus groups on July 27, July 28 and July 29. In this framework, we will hold a meeting with KTÖS and KTOEÖS tomorrow with the title of Academic Study Calendar and elimination of learning losses. Regarding Health and Safety issues, the Ministry of Health, KTTB, KTOEÖS, We will come together with KTÖS and Education Does Not Wait Initiative on July 28. We will hold group meetings with the Cyprus Turkish Psychologists Association and Guides and Psychological Counselors, KTOEÖS, KTÖS on 29 July. After the completion of our work, we will make the necessary announcement to the public.”

Amcaoğlu underlined that they aim for face-to-face education in the 2021-2022 academic year, and that the best way to achieve this is by inoculating an education army of approximately 15,000 people.
Stating that higher education is not included in this figure, Amcaoğlu wanted them to be vaccinated as well.
Amcaoğlu drew attention to the importance of vaccinating all teachers and employees, even students of appropriate age, and said "please get vaccinated".
