Three people arrested for kidnapping and battering in Gönyeli

Three people accused of kidnapping, causing serious damage, 'threat of Use of violence' and 'battering' in Gönyeli, were arrested and detained for two days.

The suspects identified only as, E.H, M.A.S, A.M, and M.İ., were arrested in connection with the crimes of 'forced kidnapping', 'grave damage', 'threat of use of violence' and 'serious battering' on Friday, July, 23 and taken to court on Saturday, July, 24.

Police said the suspects who were lodging in a hotel in Gönyeli, on July 23 took one B.H into an unknown vehicle to talk about a post he made on a social networking site. They took him to the hotel, and forcibly detained him, saying, "I will beat you, I will kill you," and threatened violence.

Police said that one of the suspects, who could not be identified yet, during an argument that broke out between them at an unspecified location on the Kyrenia main road, punched B.H's right eye and nose and severely battered him, causing multiple fractures of his nasal bone and causing grave and bodily harm.

Another person is being sought in connection with the matter.

The police stated that the suspects were identified and arrested in Lefkosa, and there were statements to be taken and camera footage that needed to be examined, and demanded that the suspects remain in police custody for 2 days in the first place.

Judge Mine Ozankaya ordered the suspects to remain in police custody for 3 days for investigation purposes.
