Pandemic rules are being flouted in the TRNC- Minister warned

TRNC Minister of Health, Ünal Üstel has warned against the growing complacency of COVID-19 rules and measures in the country.

Unfortunately we are witnessing gross violations of pandemic rules and regulations in crowded areas. This kind of behavior may result in unwanted lockdown in the country, Üstel said in a statement issued on Tuesday.

The Minister called on the public to adhere to the rules in place particularly at gatherings such as weddings, restaurants, bars and cafes.

He pointed out that the health ministry has been receiving a large number of complaints from concerned citizens that the rules were being flouted.

Üstel also called on local authorities to carry out tighter and stricter inspections.
