Turkish man threatens to 'kill' his wife, battered her and will face trial in the future
A man who battered his wife and threatened to kill her for interfering with him after an argument between them on the grounds that "he did not let her go home" will face trial for assault.
The incident happened in their home in Değirmenlik on Saturday, May, 15.
According to police records, the suspect identified with the initials Ü.O., was arrested on the same day and taken to court on charges of "violence against a woman, threat of violence and serious assault" on Monday, May, 17.
Police said the suspect severely beat the victim, hit her on her left cheekbone and lip after he threatened to use violence, saying “I will kill you, you cannot interfere with me.”
The complainant was checked at the general hospital in Lefkosa Emergency Service the same day and a batter report was obtained.
The police said that the investigation was complete, and demanded that the suspect be given a safeguard that the court deems appropriate on the matter.
He was released on bail and to face trial in the future.
He will present 2 guarantors, sign a personal guarantee of 50 thousand TL, deposit 7 thousand 500 TL in cash and not leave his / her residence address without permission
