Student stole from a shop 5 times, caught the 6th time

A student who was caught stealing from a supermarket in Famagusta will remain in detention for 8 days until trial.

The student identified with the initial, A. P was caught last week by a supermarket supervisor while trying to escape with 3 pieces of salmon, 1 sliced bread and 1 liter of ice cream.

Police investigation revealed that the suspect has been living in the TRNC without a resident permit. 

Police also said that the suspect has at 5 different dates, stolen bread, coke, ice cream, food and drink from the same supermarket.

He was arrested and taken to court where a 3-day detention order was issued against him. On his return to court on Thursday last week, his detention order was extended by another 8 days for more investigation to be carried out.
