New COVID-19 measures in TRNC come into force today
The latest revised COVID-19 measures and restrictions announced by TRNC government last week came into force today, Monday, May, 17, 2021.
According to the revised decisions, Monday to Saturday night-time curfew will begin at 10:00pm and end at 5:00am.
-A full-day curfew will be in force on Sunday, May 23.
-Retail stores and other open sectors will be allowed to operate from 8:30am to 9:00pm while supermarkets will open from 7:00am to 9:00pm.
-The closing time for restaurants, cafes, patisseries and other eateries has been extended to 9:30pm.
-As of on Monday, May, 17, 2021, musicians will be allowed to perform live at outdoor areas of cafes and restaurants on the condition they carry out PCR tests every seven days.
-Indoor sports competitions will also be allowed as of Monday, May, 17, 2021, but on the condition that sporting federations sign declaration of consent. No spectators will be allowed.
-Boat tours will be allowed to operate at one third capacity but crew members on board will be required to carry out PCR tests every seven days.
-Internet cafes will be allowed to open as of Tuesday, May 18. Again staff at such establishments will be required to undergo PCR testing every seven days and customers’ details will be recorded at entrance.
-Individuals will only be allowed to spend a maximum of two hours on a computer.
-Weddings, engagement and other similar ceremonies will be allowed to take place outdoors as of May 27 on the condition the current epidemiological situation doesn’t change.
