60-year-old man sexually abused 11-year-old girl in the Girne-Boğaz

A 60-year-old man has been sent to jail for sexually abusing an 11-year-old girl in the Girne-Boğaz region.

The suspect identified only with the initial, S.S was arrested on Thursday last week and taken to court on charges of rape and sexual abuse. The suspect did not accept the charges.

Police officer who testified against the accused in court, said the the incident happened at around 11:30am on Thursday, May, 6.

The suspect who had 77 promil alcohol at the time of the incident entered the victim's house through the neighbor's open door, tried to kiss the 11-year-old girl on the lips, and committed sexual abuse by squeezing her breasts and hips.

The suspect in his first verbal statement said, " I made a mistake, let's close this incident."

Noting that the investigation has just begun, police officer stated that there were statements that should be taken and demanded that the suspect be detained for 3 days for investigation purposes.

Judge Özge Uğraşın ordered the suspect to be detained for 3 days.
